Hold Rites of E. C. Hughes, 35

Former Resident of Garner and Goodell Dies at Des Moines

Garner - Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the First Methodist church in Garner for Edward C. Hughes, 35, who died at a Des Moines hospital on Aug. 15.

Mr. Hughes was born on June 29, 1906 at Goodell. He attended grade school there and finished his high school course at Garner with the class of 1924. For the past few years he was employed as deputy mail clerk at the Iowa building at Des Moines.

He leaves his widow, a son and daughter, his mother and several brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers were Frank Kirz, Halbert Pollock, Howard Greiman, Earl Stille, Edwin Greiman and Leo Brown.

The Rev. Milo Hall, pastor of the First Methodist church, was in charge of the services and interment was made in the Amsterdam cemetery at Goodell.
