Constable At Kanawha Dies

Succumbs Suddenly to Heart Disease; Survived by Wife, 5 Children

Kanawha, July 26 - R. H. Hartwig, 60, local constable, died suddenly yesterday morning of a heart attack. As usual, he was up town the previous night and upon retiring did not complain of any illness. As he was about to arise he was seized with a coughing spell and died.

Mr. Hartwig had been town constable here the past four years, having been re-elected to that office last fall. At the time of his death he also was secretary of the local Odd Fellows lodge.

Besides his wife, he is survived by five children. They are; Merle of Des Moines; Mrs. Ralph Yepson, Marguerite, DeEtta and Robert, all of Kanawha. He formerly lived in Corwith.

Funeral arrangements have not been made at this time.
