Fall Fatal To Garner Man, 58

Rites to Be Tuesday for G. F. Harmdierks

Garner - Funeral services will be held for Gerhardt Frederick Harmdierks, 58, at the St. Paul Lutheran church here Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. G. J. Kupke, pastor of the St. Paul's Lutheran church, in charge. Burial will be in Concord township cemetery.

Mr. Harmdierks died at a Mason City hospital Friday from injuries received in a fall from the roof of his house a few days previous. Harmdierks received a fractured vertebra, broken ribs and other internal injuries.

Mr. Harmdierks was born May 15, 1887, in Ollenburg, Germany, and came to the United States at the age of 14 and settled near Woonsocket, S. Dak. He was married to Dena Gerdes and to this union were born 4 children who survive, Mrs. Gertrude Revland, Garner; Susie, and Arthur of Garner and Gerhardt Harmdierks, Jr., with the armed services.

Mr. Harmdierks came to this vicinity 19 years ago and has lived here continuously since. The past 4 years he has been employed by the Goodrich Bethke poultry firm.
