Man Dies in Truck Upset Near Garner

Garner - Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Bohn funeral home for Gerhart F. Harmdierks, 23, of Garner, who was crushed to death in a gravel truck accident 3 1/2 miles northwest of Garner Wednesday.

Harmdierks was hauling gravel for the Clemont Brick and Sand company when the truck got out of control and the loaded vehicle sank into a soft shoulder and he was crushed in the cab.

The Rev. B. A. Rust of Britt will be in charge of the funeral rites, assisted by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Burial will be in the Concord township cemetery.

Harmdierks, an ex-GI, leaves the widow and 3 children. The family came here recently from Austin, Minn.

Other survivors include the mother, Mrs. Gerhart Harmdierks, 2 sisters, Mrs. Roy Revland and Mrs. Morris O'Hearn, and a brother, Arthur Harmdierks, all of Garner.
