Farmer Near Garner Dies at Rochester

Garner - Funeral services for Andrew William Anderson, 72, will be held at the Bohn funeral home in Garner Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church. The Rev. S. W. Cunningham will officiate and burial will be in the Concord township cemetery with the I.O.O.F. of Garner assisting with the graveside service.

Mr. Anderson died at the Colonial hospital in Rochester, Minn., following a lingering illness. He had been in failing health since last January and spent 3 months in a hospital there earlier this year following a major operation and submitted to surgery a 2nd time 5 weeks ago.

Mr. Anderson was the son of Nels and Marian Madson Anderson and was born at Manister, Mich. on Sept. 25, 1878. At the age of 2 1/2 years he came with his parents and settled in Ellington township. On June 27, 1900, he was married to Agnes Frandsen, by the Rev. F. L. Hanscom,then pastor of the Garner Congregational church and now pastor of the Little Brown church at Nashua.

After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Anderson spent several years in Oregon and in 1904 moved to their present farm home in Concord township, 6 miles east of Garner. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson observed their golden wedding anniversary last June 27 at their home.

The deceased was a member of the Garner Methodist church and the I.O.O.F. He leaves his wife, two adopted children, Carl Anderson of Clear Lake, and Mrs. Alton Paulson of Garner, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
