Longtime Resident of Garner Succumbs

Garner - Funeral services for Ernest V. Pollock, 70, will be held at the United Presbyterian church Friday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. J. Dallas Gibson in charge. Interment will be in the Concord township cemetery.

Mr. Pollock died suddenly at his home in Garner Wednesday from a heart attack. Pollock had been at work at the Schneider store as usual Tuesday.

Ernest V. Pollock was born in Guernsey county, Ohio, Feb. 17, 1879, the son of Stephen and Nancy Pollock. He spent his boyhood days on a farm in Ohio and in 1898 came to Garner with his parents and family and began working in the C. J. Schneider store. On Oct. 1, he had completed a period of continuous service with the same firm.

He was a member of the Garner Unites Presbyterian church.

Surviving are his sister, Matie and a brother, Scott, both of Garner and numerous nephews and nieces.
