Mrs. Niemeyer Rites Wednesday at Garner Church

Garner - Funeral services for Mrs. George H. (Emma C.) Niemeyer, 74, will be held at the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Carl J. Mohr in charge of the service. Interment will be in the Concord Township Cemetery, Garner, with the Bohn Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Niemeyer died at Mercy Hospital, Mason City, Sunday, following a lingering illness.

Emma C. Straatman, the daughter of William and Mary Straaatman, was born at St. Marys, Ohio. Sept. 27, 1883, and came with her parents as a small child to the Klemme community where she received her education in the rural schools.

In 1906 she was married to George Henry Niemeyer at the Peace Reformed Church in Ell Township by the Rev. A. Muehlmeier. Following their marriage they lived on farms in Liberty Township until their retirement to Garner approximately 40 years ago.

Mrs. Niemeyer was a member of the Zion and Evangelical Reformed Church, Garner, and was a very active member of the Aid.

She is survived by two sons, Wilbur and Clarence, Garner; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Lemke, Garner, and Mrs. Harvey (Matilda) Wilkins, St. Mary's, Ohio; three grandsons, Robert, Craig and Carter Niemeyer, all of Garner.
