Lyle Hammitt dies at Garner

Garner - Funeral services for Lyle W. Hammitt, 49, will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Zion United Church of Christ.

Mr. Hammitt died Wednesday of a heart attack while at work. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery with the Rev. LeRoy Franz officiating, assisted by the American Legion and VFW posts. The Bohn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Edna; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Tumlinson, Rockford; Patricia Wolf and Betty Hammitt, both of Clear Lake; four sons, Cecil, Rockford; Ronald, Hayward, Calif., and Danny and Ricky, both at home; his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Bird, Garner; five grandchildren, two brothers, Vernon, Lohrville, and Leroy Johnson, Klemme, and two sisters, Mrs. Lavern Knoke, Mason City, and Mrs. Roger Schlawin, Garner.
