GARNER BOY ACCIDENTLLY SHOT AND INSTANTLY KILLED
John Reibe, of Garner, a lad about 11 years old, was shot and almost instantly killed Tuesday evening at the Nole Hanson home in Garner.
John was doing chores at the Hanson home and he, and his playmate Arthur Schlichting, were shooting at a mark with a .22 caliber rifle. Arthur had shot and was in the act of handing the gun to the other boy when it was in some way accidentally discharged, the bullet passing through the top of the victim’s head. Death followed in about twenty minutes.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 pm in the German Lutheran Church. The whole community is shocked and saddened over this and accident and the affected ones have the sympathy of a large circle of friends.
