Ward Funeral to Be Tuesday at Woden Church

Woden - Funeral services for John C. Ward, 82, who died late Saturday at the Roberts Nursing Home in Algona, will be conducted at 1:30 Tuesday at the Methodist Church here. The Rev. F. W. Schreve will officiate. The Boughton Funeral Home, Britt, is in charge.

Mr. Ward, the son of Chandler Ward and Elizabeth Claire Ward, was born Dec 25, 1874, in a log cabin four miles north of Wesley. On June 9, 1904 he was married to Louise M. Klamm. They farmed in the Wesley and Woden communities. He served as school director of Bingham Township.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Mina) Bird, Woden; and Mrs. Leander (Frances) Seefeld, Wesley, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two brothers, Clarence Ward, Wesley, and George Ward, Clear Lake, and three sisters, Mary Peters, Wesley; Mrs. Edward (Charlotte) Wolf, Sanborn, Minn., and Anna Kernan, Snohomish, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sept. 19, 1948, a sister, Mrs. James (Elizabeth) Hill, and a brother William.

The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
