Funeral at Hutchins for Aged North Iowan

Hutchins - Funeral services were held at the Congregational church Tuesday afternoon for Nels Vorland, 88, who died Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Helen Larson, with whom he lived. He had been bedfast for 8 weeks.

He was born and married in Norway. In the early 90's he brought his family to Wright county, Iowa, where he farmed for some years. Later he and Mrs. Vorland moved to Eagle Grove, then to Forest City.

Upon the death of Mrs. Vorland Oct. 2, 1944, Mr. Vorland went to Hutchins to make his home with his daughter. He leaves 3 other daughters, Mrs, Charles Warner of Lincoln, Nebr., Mrs. Tom Benson of Forest City, and Mrs. Nels Thompson of Eagle Grove.

Burial was beside his wife in Evergreen cemetery at Britt.
