Gardner, 96, Dies; Rites to Be Monday

Britt - Thomas B. Gardner, 96, retired hotel operator, died early Saturday morning at the home of his nephew, Dan McMahon, Crystal Lake. He had been ill for the past month.

Mr. Gardner had operated hotels at Omaha, Neb., Cartersville, Crystal Lake and Britt. He was born March 28, 1860, in Oregon. His wife, the former Mary O'Connor, died Jan 19, 1944.

Surviving are five nephews, Dan McMahon, Joe McMahon, Pete McMahon and Tom McMahon, all of Crystal Lake vicinity, and John Kennedy, Fort Worth, Tex., and two nieces, Daisy Hurley in California and Loretta Johnson, Arcadia, Calif.

Services will be conducted Monday at 9 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Britt. The Rev. John P. Smith will offer the requiem Mass. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. The Boughton Funeral Home, Britt is in charge of arrangements.
