Former Britt Banker Is Dead

Funeral Services of C. W. Erwin Will Be Held on Thursday.

Britt, Oct. 19 - Funeral services will be held tomorrow for C. W. Erwin, formerly a prominent banker of Britt, who died at his home Monday night. The services will be held at the home, conducted by the Rev. J. T. Pierce, Milford, a former Britt pastor.

Mr. Erwin was for many years identified with many business projects in Britt. He came to Hancock county with his brother, T. B. Erwin, in 1895 and engaged in the grocery business.

They later became interested in the Commercial State bank and for about 30 years Mr. Erwin was an officer of the bank. He was president of the bank when it closed in 1925 and shortly afterward became ill and has been an invalid since.

He was born in North English in 1871. He leaves beside the widow, three children, Wayne of Mason City, and the Misses Arta and Charlotte, at home. His mother and a sister, Mrs. Kitty Allen, reside at North English. A brother, Frank, lives at Nebraska City, Neb., and a brother, Harry, at Grand Junction.

Masonic services will be given at the local cemetery where burial will take place.
