Longtime Britt Resident Dies; Rites Saturday

Britt - Funeral services for Mrs. Melissa Eisenman, 88, wife of the late Cyrus Eisenman, pioneer Hancock County livestock man, will be held Monday at 2 at the Methodist Church. A prayer service will be held at the Boughton Funeral Home preceding the church service.

Mrs. Eisenman died Thursday morning at the Hancock Memorial Hospital at Britt after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage.

The daughter of Henry and Marenda Fox, she was born Jan. 27, 1867, Henderson County, Ill. She moved with her parents to Kansas and later to Iowa. Mrs. Eisenman married Cyrus Eisenman March 12, 1890, at Algona. They lived near Woden and Britt.

The couple observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1940. She was a life long member of the Methodist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Chester Eisenman, Willard Eisenman and Cleo Eisenman, all of Britt, and three daughters, Mrs. August (Bertha) Kirschbaum, Sexton; Mrs. Thomas (Florence) Wilson, Kanawha, and Mrs. Maynard (Mildred) Nall, Phoenix, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a brother, Kenneth J. Fox, Elcajon, Calif.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mrs. Ed (Abbie) Castler; Mrs. Curtis (Ida) Eisenman; Mrs. Fred (Emma) Benson, and Mrs. Adolph (Florence) Orthel, a grandson, Daryle K. Eisenman, and a son Lester.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Britt. The Rev. R. Maynard Bell will have charge of the services.
