Services Held Monday For Mrs. H. J. Dietz

Funeral services were held for Mrs. H. J. Dietz, Monday, August 8, at 1:30 p.m. at the Osman Chapel, and at 2 p.m. at the Congregational Church. In the absence of the Rev. E. H. Johnson, the former pastor, the Rev. Lester E. Gatch, of Tripoli, Iowa, was in charge of the last rites. Burial was made in Evergreen Cemetery.

Sadie Sylvannia Gohn was born at Hellam, York County, Pennsylvania, Dec. 30, 1876, the second daughter of Ruben and Malinda Gohn.

On February 20, 1896, Sadie was united in marriage to the Rev. Horace C. Schultz. His death occurred on July 9, 1909, leaving his wife and four children, namely, Carel, Alma, Nelson, and Anna.

On February 8, 1910, at Oregon, Ill., Mrs. Schultz was united in marriage to Harry J. Dietz. They moved to Stilson, Iowa in 1911. To this union were born three children, Albert, Grace, and Harry John, Jr.

Mrs. Dietz died at her home in Britt, Friday, August 5 after approximately one year of illness, having attained the age of 78 years, 7 months, and 5 days. Mrs. Dietz was a member of the Congregational Church and of the Women's Fellowship, and was active in the work when health permitted.

In passing she is survived by her husband, H. J. Dietz, of Britt, and the following children: Carel Schultz, Grand Island, Nebr.; Alma Oxley, Kanawha; Nelson Schultz, York, Pa.; Anna Razink, Klontarf, Min.; Albert B. Dietz, Britt; Grace Thompson, Alden, Iowa; and Harry J. (Jack) Dietz, Jr., of Thompson, Iowa. There are 27 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren and other relatives.
