Woman Dies on Day Before Her 98th Birthday

Britt - Mrs. Lawrence P. Callison, 97, died at her home in Britt Sunday evening after a week's illness. She would have been 98 had she lived until May 24.

Mrs. Callison was the mother of Chrystina Callison, former Hancock County recorder, who died March 2 at the age of 74.

Mrs. Callison was born in Denmark May 24, 1857. She came to the United States at the age of 23 to stay with relatives at Britt. For many years she lived in the Stilson area. Her husband died April 28, 1942.

Survivors include a daughter, Anna Jeffords, of Hopkins, Minn., three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Boughton Funeral Home, the Rev. Donald Varce officiating. She was a member of the Stilson Evangelical U.B. Church. Burial will be at Britt.
