Miss C. Callison Ex-Recorder of Hancock Co., Dies

Birtt - Miss Christyna Callison, 74, died at a hospital in Mason City Wednesday after a long illness. She was a former recorder of Hancock County and at one time was employed at the state capitol in Des Moines during the administration of Gov. John Hammill.

For many years Miss Callison was correspondent for the Globe Gazette, at Britt and later at Stilson where she lived with her mother, Mrs. Gunde Callison, 98. Besides her mother, she leaves a sister, Anna Jeffords, of Hopkins, Minn.

Miss Callison had been in declining health about two years. Up until that time she had been active in club and church work. She was born in Denmark Feb. 24, 1881.

Funeral services were incomplete Wednesday but will be held Saturday. The Boughton Funeral Home is in charge.

Last Rites Held - Funeral services were held Saturday for Miss Christyne Callison, 74, at the Boughton Funeral Home in Britt with the Rev. Donald Varce, pastor of the United Brethren Evangelical Church of Stilson officiating. Miss Callison, former Hancock County recorder, was employed at the state capitol during the administration of Gov. John Hammill.
