Rites Set for Retired Farmer of Britt Area

Britt - Funeral services for Gus Baker, 85, retired Hancock County farmer, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Boughton Funeral home. He had been in ill health the past three years and died Monday evening following several strokes.

Survivors include a brother, Charles Baker, of Austin, Minn., and two sisters, Anna Johnson and Louise Thompson, of Britt.

Services will be in charge of the Rev. B. A. Rust and the Rev. Elmer Johnson, with burial in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. Baker was born at Bradford, Ind., Feb 25, 1879. He came to Hancock County in 1895 and settled on a farm northwest of Britt with his brother Anthony. They operated a dairy for many years. He never married. He was a member of the I.O.O.F.
