Mrs. Peter Hanson Young Wife-Mother Died November 9th
Leaves Family of Six Small Children; Burial Concord Cemetery Mon.
Mrs. Peter Hanson passed away at her home in Garner, Friday afternoon, November 9. For several days previous to her passing, there was but little hope that she would be spared to her husband and family of six children. About three weeks previous to Mrs. Hanson's death a little daughter, Vera Alberta, was born into the Hanson home. Following the birth of the baby, Mrs. Hanson failed to gain strength and death relieved her from suffering which was intense.
The maiden names of the deceased was Mildred Loraine Bowers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Bowers. She was born at Forest City February 15, 1907, hence passed her 27th birthday February of this year. In the fall of 1922 she was married to Peter Hanson, and soon thereafter they moved to Garner. This town has been the family home practically ever since. Seven children were born into this home. One of them, Peter, preceded his mother in death several years. The living children, who, with the father and several brothers and sisters, survive to mourn, are: Marie, 12, Richard, 6, Joan, 5, Catherine, 3, Betty Jo, 16 months, and Vera Alberta, the three weeks old baby.
Living brothers and sisters are: Mrs. O. E. Lundt, Parlamo, North Dakota; Dorothy Lutgen of Minneapolis; Russel, Lawrence and Dwight Bowers, all of Forest City; Max, of Cedar Rapids; Milton of California.
Other relatives who were here durning a part of her illness and who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Chas. Zimmer of Mora, Minn., and Mrs. Chaney Nelson of Forest City. These ladies are aunts of the deceased, Mrs. Zimmer a sister of her mother, and Mrs. Nelson a sister of her father.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of the Rev. T. Ernest Hoon, pastor. Interment was in Concord cemetery.
