Nettie Pannkuk's services Thursday
Funeral services for Mrs. Anton (Nettie Mae) Pannkuk, 77, will be held Thursday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. from the United Methodist church with the Rev. S. Gale Hawhee officiating.
The Rev. Hawhee will use as his text, Psalm 139:17-18 and the meditation will be, "When I Awake I am Still with Thee." Comfort in music was supplied by organist, Mrs. G.W. Templeton, and the duet of Mrs. Larry Paulsen and James Gatchel, who sang, "Near to the Heart of God," and,, "Ivory Palaces."
Pallbearers will be; Donald C. Roe, Clement Houdek, Wesley H. Seymour, Leo V. Brown, G.W. Templeton, and Chet Stille. She was laid to rest in the Concord cemetery, south of Garner.
Nettie Mae, the eldest daughter of Myron and Etta (Webner) Haskins, was born July 16, 1894. After several years of poor health, she died Monday, Nov. 1, 1971, having reached the age of 77 years, three months, and 15 days.
She grew to womanhood in the Garner and Klemme communities, where she received her education. On March 26, 1912, she was united in marriage to Anton Pannkuk of Titonka. To this marriage, one daughter, Marguerite, was born.
They established their home on a farm near Titonka and lived there until 1934. They lived in various places for short periods of time; then moved to Garner in 1937, where they continued to make their home for the past 34 years.
Mrs. Pannkuk was an active member of United Methodist church and served in many offices of the church as long as her health permitted her to do so.
She leaves to mourn, her husband, Tony, her daughter, Marguerite (Mrs. Dan McCaulley) of Lake City, Ia.; two grandsons, and six great grand-chlidren; two sisters; Mrs. Floyd Sherman, Brookings S. Dak., and Mrs. Emil (Beulah) Rekow of Garner, and many nieces and nephews, along with a host of friends.
She was preceded In death by her parents, one sister, Mrs Earl (Lela) Ferleman, two brothers, Webner and Dexter, and two grandchildren.
