Klemme man killed in water tower fall

Donald Hamrick, 27, of Klemme, was killed Monday night when he slipped off a water tower in Dunedin, Fla., and fell 35 feet to the pavement below, police say.

Hamrick, a water tower cleaner, suffered a fractured skull and internal injuries from the fall, a hospital spokesperson said.

Hamrick worked for Clear Lake Water Tower Company.

Dunedin City manager Parwez Alam said the firm was contracted to clean two tanks and that they were almost finished when the accident occurred.

The water tower is located in a residential area in Dunedin, Fla., about five miles north of Clearwater, on the state's Gulf coast.

Funeral arrangements are not yet complete at Tenold Funeral Home in Klemme.
