GRAYDON B. BACK

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 27, at the Klemme United Methodist Church for Graydon B. Back, 70, who died June 24, 1989 at Mercy Hospital, Mason City. Rev. Jerry Robertson officiated. Burial was in Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme. Tenold Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Graydon Burrell Back, the son of Herman and Flora Kern Back, was born September 21, 1918 at Blairstown. He attended country school and graduated from Klemme High School in 1936.

He worked on the farm until World War II; he served overseas while in the Air Force from 1941 until 1945.

He married Doris E. Johnson on May 27, 1949 at Klemme. He operated a petroleum tank truck until 1962, worked for Klemme Coop Elevator in the fertilizer department until 1970 and was manager of the Goodell branch until retirement in 1980.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church and served as a trustee, Klemme Fire Department, was on the town council and was Commander of the American Legion.

Preceding him in death were his parents, an infant brother, Richard and two grandsons, Nicholas and John Rosel. Surviving are his wife, Doris of Klemme; two daughters, Becky (Mrs. Steven) Tosel and Mary (Mrs. Terril) Balek, both of Mason City: six grandchildren; one sister, Marilyn (Mrs. Franklyn) Buseman, Belmond; two brothers, Lynford of Klemme and Wilford of Cape Girardeau, MO.

Casket bearers were Al Denny, Ed Lents, Gary Alberts, Milvern Barz, Elmer Wessels and Larry Langlitz.
