Long-time area farmer died

Long-time Ellington township farmer, Paul C. Paulson. 71, died unexpectedly early Tuesday [21 Oct 1980] morning following a heart attack at his farm home southeast of Forest City. He was rushed by ambulance to Forest City community hospital after becoming ill but was dead on arrival at the hospital.

Mr. Paulson was born March 29, 1909, at the farm home of his parents, Carl and Emma Paulson, near Ventura, later moving with them to a farm in Ellington township. He began his education in the Garner schools and completed it in an Ellington township school.

He married Eunice Underwood at Immanuel Lutheran church March 1, 1936. The couple established their home on a farm in Ellington township, moving to their present home in 1947.

Mr. Paulson was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Immanuel Lutheran church by the Rev. Mr. Hinderlie, and he has been a, lifelong member of the congregation. He also served on the Ellington township school board for a number of years.

He is survived by his wife, Eunice; daughter, Mary, at home two sons, Robert Paulson of Forest City and Max Paulson of Clear Lake; two brothers, Erwin Paulson of Omaha and Clifford Paulson of Forest City; a sister, Mrs. Floyd (May) Standley of Port Charlotte, Florida, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
his parents.

Funeral services for Mr. Paulson will be held at 1:30 Friday afternoon at Immanuel church with the Rev. John Hieronymus and the Rev. Ole Winter officiating. Mrs. Marlin D. Olson will sing accompanied by Norma Boonigarden, organist.

Casket bearers will be Joel Anderson, Dewayne Barth, Milton Hanson, Dwayne Rasmussen, Obed Skogerboe and John Torkelson. Burial will be in the Madison township cemetery with the Petersen Funeral home in charge.
