Rev. Dr. L.W. Huenemann 1921-1994

Memorial services for Rev. Dr. Lorenz William (Larry) Huenemann, 73, who died Sunday, June 12, 1994 at his home in Green Bay, Wl. were held Sunday, June 19, 2 p.m., at First United Presbyterian Church in De Pere, WI with Rev. James B. Wooten Jr. officiated.

Burial will be at Peace Reformed Church Cemetery, rural Garner. Memorial funds have been established at the University of the Ozarks and Unity Hospice in Green Bay. Rev. Dr. Lorenz William (Larry) Huenemann, the son of Rev. William and Mary (Hansmeier) Huenemann, was born June 1, 1921 in Curtiss. WI. He grew up in the Garner vicinity as his father was a pastor of Peace Reformed Church near Garner. He was a graduate of Garner High School, of Mission House (now Lakeland College) and the McCormick Theological Seminary. Rev. Huenemann received an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, AR. He was ordained in 1946 and was very active until illness forced his retirement in January of this year.

He served churches in Jackson, WI; Oostburg, WI; Madison, IN; Glen Ellyn, IL, and Tulsa, OK. He had been Interim Minister at Arlington Heights, IL; at East Side Moravian Church in Green Bay, Grace Presbyterian Church in Green Bay, and Robinsonville Presbyterian Church in Green Bay. Rev. Huenemann moderated the Session of the Wequiok Presbyterian Church.

In 1945 he married Mary Lou Hugunin at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Green Bay, VA.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou and their children, Margaret of Syracuse, NY, Joel of Superior, WI, and Karen of Chicago. IL; a grandson, Matthew; five brothers, Ruben of Portland, OR, Elmer of Garner, Edward of Cloister, NJ. Paul of Plymouth, MN and William of Fort Wayne, IN; five sisters, Ruth Huenemann
of Berkeley, CA, Miriam Huber of Snokomish, WA, Lois Streyle of Albert Lea, MN, Erna Buehrer of Green Bay, WI, and Dorothea Volkert of Oakland, CA.

He was preceded in death by three brothers. Calvin, Karl, and Roland.
