Services held for Rev. H. Huenemann

Services for Huenemann, 95, Lyndon, Washington, were held here Friday, Mar. 26, from the Peace Reformed church, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Lloyd Gross officiating.

The Rev. Huenemann died at Lyndon, Wash., on Monday, Mar. 22 [1971]. He reached the attained age of 95 years, 11 months, and 14 days.

He was born April 8, 1875. He was a relative of the Huenemanns and others in this community.

The Rev. Gross used as his text Revelations 2:7, and the meditation, "Life Is a Paradise of God." Comfort in music was supplied by soloist Vincent Woiwood, who sang, "Just as I am," and, "My Faith Looks Up to Thee." The organist was Mrs Stanley Peter. Pallbearers were; Curtis Greimann,. Harold Stromer, Clarence Lenz, Menno Eenhuis, Henry Klinge, and Leon Goll. He was laid to rest in the Peace Reformed cemetery adjacent to the church.

He was born at Norwood, Minnesota, to Gerhardt and Catherine Huenemann; he was one of eleven children.

On September 17, 1903, he was married to Rena Doctor; and to this union one son was born, Gerhardt Jocob.

He was a graduate of Hope College Holland, Michigan; of Western Theological Seminary in 1903, and he became an ordained minister of the Reformed Church in America. He served churches at Everly, Lennox, So. Dak.; Foreston, Ill.; and Dell Rapids, So. Dak. In 1937, he was awarded the high honor of a Doctor of Divinity degree from Central College Pella.

He was preceded in death by a child at the age of three; by two foster children; Alvin in 1946, and Adelaide in 1963; and his wife died December 20.1951.
