Dwight H. Helps KLEMME

Dwight H. Helps, 87, of Klemme, died Sunday (April 28, 1996) at home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at the United Methodist Church, Klemme, with the Rev. Jerry Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Ell Township Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Tenold Funeral Home, Klemme, and will be held one hour prior to services at the church today.

Dwight H. Helps was born May 9, 1908, in rural Clarion.

Survivors include his wife, Alvina, of Klemme; one son, Raymond Helps of Klemme; daughters, Eunice Broer of New Providence, and JoAnn VerHelst of Klemme; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Pringnitz of Garner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and one brother.

Services for Dwight H. Helps, 87, Klemme, who died Sunday, April 28, 1996, at his home, were held Wednesday, May 1, 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Klemme with Rev. Jerry Robertson officiating.

Music was provided by organist, Madelyn Priebe, who accompanied vocalist, Gordon Beier, and congregational hymns. Ushers were Duane Pringnitz and John Schwichtenberg.

Casket bearers were Gerald Buss, Gene Johnson, John Haugen, Clarence Gilpin, Virgil Waddingham and Mervin Groesbeck.

Burial was at the Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme, with Tenold Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.

Dwight H. Helps, the son of Henry and Lena (Warner) Helps, was born May 9, 1908, in rural Clarion. He attended rural school in Avery Township and after school he farmed with his father.

April 14, 1933, he married Alvina Buss. They farmed in the Klemme area until they retired.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church and a charter member on the Board of the Klemme Coop Elevator. He drove school bus for Klemme Community School for 11 years after retiring from the farm. For the past 22 years, Dwight and Alvina have spent their winters in Texas.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alvina of Klemme; daughters, Eunice Broer and her husband, Lowell of New Providence, and JoAnn VerHelst and her husband, Russell of Klemme; a son, Raymond Helps and his wife, Esther of Klemme; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Pringnitz of Garner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Stanley; and a brother, Harlow.
