Rites held Friday for Mrs. Ida Hill

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida J. Hill of Leland were conducted Friday afternoon at Petersen Funeral Home in Forest City. The Rev. David Johnson, pastor of Our Savior's Lutheran church, officiated.

Mrs. Russell Lewis was organist. Casket bearers were E. A. Christensen, Ed Gerdes, Leo Hammond, Roger Hammond, Leonard Holland and Edward Riekena. Burial was in Madison Township cemetery.

Mrs. Hill, 89, died Oct. 1 [1980] at the Forest City Community hospital after being ill two weeks.

She was born Aug. 5, 1891, in Spring Green, Wis., to Ole and Hattie Knudson Ellefson. She attended rural school in Wisconsin. As a young woman, she visited relatives in Minnesota and Iowa where she met and married Enoch Hill. The couple farmed near Leland for a few years and then moved to Forest City. Mr. Hill died Sept. 21, 1966, and in 1970 Mrs. Hill moved to Leland.

Survivors include two sisters, Hilda Ellefson and Mrs. Elizabeth Moore, both of Madison, Wis., several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers, Carl and Henry Ellefson.
