Rites for Mrs. Ida Hagen held Wednesday afternoon

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Hagen, 82, a long-time resident of the Forest City area, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran church. The Rev. Owen Gangstead and the Rev. John Hieronymus officiated. Burial was in Madison township cemetery.

Mrs. Hagen died Sunday [Jan 1974] at the Good Samaritan nursing home in Forest City.

Casket bearers were Gerald Anderson, Roger Anderson, John Haines, Alan Lien, Don Nedved and Robert Tschirki. The Olson-Petersen funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hagen was born Ida Kristine Borseth Aug. 3, 1891. She was confirmed Nov. 11, 1906, at Linden Lutheran church by the Rev. C. S. Halvorson.

On Dec. 2, 1919, she was married to Gust Hagen of Thompson at the Martin Borseth home in Linden township.

In 1918, the couple moved to a farm north of Forest City where they lived for 28 years before retiring and moving to Forest City in 1946.

Survivors include a son, Gordon Hagen of Charles City; four daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Gladys) Anderson of Leland, Mrs. Chris (Mildred) Tschirki of Forest City, Mrs. Wilford (Alice) Thorson of Albert Lea, Minn., and Mrs. Violet Tschirki of Forest City; and a brother, John Borseth of Bathgate, N. Dak. She is also survived by 10
grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
