Helen M. Stille - Helen M. Hartzell, 78, daughter of George and Lydia (Puls) Hartzell, was born January 26, 1897 at Cedar Falls. At an early age she moved to Britt. After graduating from Britt High School she attended Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. She taught school in Hancock County until her marriage April 28, 1919 to Lester Stille. They farmed near Klemme until 1950 when they retired and moved to Klemme.

Mrs. Stille was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, American Legion Auxiliary, Grandmothers Club and Royal Neighbors of America.

Survivors include her daughter Mrs. James (Ruth) Knudtson of Lake Mills; two grandsons, Mark Tue of Klemme and Greg Tue of Britt; two sisters, Mina Ludeke of Mason City and Gladys Van Zanten of Shelby, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, four brothers and one sister.

NOTE – Mrs. Stille died August 19, 1975 and is buried in Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme, IA.

Services held for Mrs Helen Stille

Funeral service for Mrs. Helen M. Stille, 78, Klemme, were held last Thursday, Aug. 21, at 10:30 a.m. from the United Methodist church of Klemme, with the Rev. Dora Campbell officiating. Mrs. Stille died Tuesday, Aug. 19, at a Mason City hospital.

Comfort in music was supplied by soloist Brent Peters, and Mrs. Robert Schulz was the organist. They presented the hymns, "Today I Walk Where Jesus Walked" and, "When They Ring the Golden Bells." Pallbearers were, Lee Anderson, Jack Dominic, Art Jass, L. William Stille, Gordon Hartzell and William Sennama. She was laid to rest in the Klemme cemetery. The Andrew Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
