Lorraine E. Buckley, 75, of Garner, died on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at her home in Garner.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner, with Revs. Janet Rieckhoff-Faris and Ed Bard
officiating. Following the service her body will be cremated. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Ell Township Cemetery in Klemme. Visitation will be held from 4-6:00 p.m., on Thursday, at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church.Lorraine Ethel Buckley, the daughter of Herman and Ethel (Schoenwetter) Meyer, was born on April 4, 1937 on a farm west of Klemme. She attended the Liberty No. 9 country school and graduated from the Klemme High School in 1955. Lorraine continued her education at Iowa State Teacher's College. On October 5, 1962, she was married to Billy Buckley at the Trinity Lutheran Church in
Mason City. They lived in Forest City where Lorraine raised their family and worked as a seamstress at home. She also worked at Pamida in Forest City until her retirement in 1994. After her husband Bill's death in 1999, Lorraine
continued to live in Forest City until moving to Garner in 2005.She enjoyed her family, visiting with her friends, cross-stitching, doing craft work and camping. She was a member of the Klemme United Methodist Church, UMW, South Liberty Homemakers and the Red Hat Society.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Cheri (Mark) Prohaska of Garner and Cindy (H.A.) Gross of Stuart, Iowa; five grandchildren, Sara (Luke) Olson of Urbandale, Brad Prohaska of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Melissa Glenn of Billings, Montana, Jaret Cook of Billings, Montana and Hailey Gross of Stuart; a great-grandson, Marley; a brother, Herman Richard (Pat) Meyer of Cedar
Rapids; a sister, Jean (Dennis) Hansen of Whiteville, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; and a brother, Alvin Meyer.
