Chief Warrant Officer Argyle E. Hays, age 26, was born in Taylor County, Iowa, March 25, 1932, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Argyle J. Hays, and died while on active duty with the U. S. Army at Ft. Riley, Kansas on June 21, 1958.

After graduating from Tingley High School in 1951, he worked for a short time in Belmond, and was married March 9, 1952 to Ruth Janssen of Goodell. He entered military service in September of 1952, and since October, 1954, had been a helicopter instructor. He was sent to Korea in March, 1956, and while there was awarded the Air Medal for Meritorious Achievement while
participating in aerial flights in the vicinity of Seoul. He returned to the United States in July, 1957, and for the past several months had been. stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas.

Survivors are his wife, Ruth, and two sons, Stephen, age 4, and James, 2 months, as well as both of his parents, 1 sister and 4 brothers.

Military memorial services were held at 2 P. M. Friday, June 27 at the Methodist Church in Klemme, with Rev. Melvin Miller officiating. Final interment was at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City.
