Cynthia Louise Dodd, the daughter of Verne and Delores (Peterson) Hejlik, was born April 29, 1958 at Britt. She graduated from Garner-Hayfield High School in 1976 and continued her education at NIACC in Mason City. While in college she worked at Target in Mason City. On September 13, 1980 she was married to Rodney Dodd at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner. They made their home in Miller where they were raising their two boys; Travis age ten and Corey age seven. Cindy was a highly valued employee at IMT in Garner where she had worked in various positions. Above all, she enjoyed her family. Together, they enjoyed the outdoors especially snowmobiling, camping, bike riding and swimming. She religiously attended every school and athletic event to show her love and support. Cindy was truly committed to encouraging kids to "give it their all!" She was always there to lend a helping hand with whatever needed to be done and she expected nothing in return.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Rosary Society, Miller Homemakers, Top of Iowa APICS and the Hancock County Snowmobile Association.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Rodney of Garner; two sons, Travis and Corey; her parents, Verne and Delores Hejlik of Garner; two sisters, Deb Rygh and her husband, Jim, of Lake Mills and their two sons, Michael and David,
Susie Kozisek and her husband, Butch, of Garner and their four children, Brad, Ashley, Chelsey and Richie; two brothers, Tim Hejlik and his wife, Sharon, of Garner and their three sons, Lincoln, Lance and Lucas and Tony Hejlik and his wife, Mel, of Woodland Park, Colo. and their two daughters, Justine and Jessica; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Verneil and Jerry Quintus of Garner; three brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Bob Dodd and his wife, Linda, of Klemme and their two daughters, Heather and Shannon and their step-son, Richard Billings of Goodell, Scott Dodd and his special friend, Diane, of
Garner and his three sons, Jon, Joe and Tom, Biz Powers and her husband, Jeff, of Garner and their three children, Matt, Mandy and Zachary and Steve Dodd and his wife, Judy, of St. Louis, MO and their two children, Alex and Carla; and many other relatives and friends.

She was joined in heaven by her maternal and paternal grandparents; father-in-law, Bob Dodd; and a brother-in-law, Richard Fisher.
