Clare Elsie Ptacek, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Chihak) Ptacek, was born June 2, 1911 on a farm west of Garner. She attended the rural schools of Liberty Township. She helped on the family farm and also took care of her parents. In 1956, she moved into Duncan where she took care of her brother, Frank and her sister, Albina Urich. Clare enjoyed cleaning the church and preparing meals for the priest. She especially enjoyed her family and needlework. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and Rosary Society.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Ptacek; four brothers, Adolph, Anton, Frank and Louis Ptacek; and three sisters, Emily Brcka, Mary Urich and Albina Urich.
