Obituary

MINNIE LENZ

Minnie Lenz, former Klemme resident passed away Tuesday morning, December 17, 1974 at
Oakwood Manor in Clear Lake, Iowa at the age of 95 years and 1 month.

Minnie Lenz was born November 17, 1879 in German Township later known as Ell Township of
Hancock County, Iowa and was a daughter of Ernest and Fredericka (Koerner) Lenz.

She was raised and attended rural schools in German Township. Later she attended college in
Fort Dodge and Charles City. After she completed her college education she taught in rural
schools in German Township and Ell Township. Then she worked for Waterman's in the grocery
store and Post Office in Klemme. In 1924 she went to the farm to live and help her sister
run the farm.

In 1966 she moved to Prairie View in Garner where she made her home until 1968 when ill
health forced her to enter the nursing home in Clear Lake.

Miss Lenz was a member of the United Methodist Church in Klemme. She was a Charter Member
of the WSCS and had received a life membership pin.

Miss Lenz taught Sunday School for many years in the United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
