In 1902, the Waterman family moved to Klemme, Iowa and shortly thereafter, bought a General Store and the building from Chris Lau, which they operated for 11 years. Mrs. Mary Waterman often helped in the store during rush hours. The public liked the Waterman Store and they enjoyed a brisk trade.
