Mrs. Gilbert C. (Dorothy) Johnson
Mason City--Mrs. Gilbert C. (Dorothy L.) Johnson, 69, of 1214 S. Massachusetts, died friday (July 23, 1993) at the Heritage Care Center.
Mass of the Resurrection will beheld at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 302 Fifth St. S.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Jim Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.
Visitation will be from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 209 Second St. N.E., with a 7 p.m. Scripture wake service at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials be given to the Dorothy Johnson Memorial Fund.
Dorothy L. Johnson was born May 27, 1924, in Wesley, a daughter of John H. and Amelia Rose (Fennerwald) Mulert. Dorothy graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1942. She attended night school in Washington, D.C., and then worked for the U.S. Government in the Postal Department in Boston and Chicago. She also worked in the office at the I.O.O.F. Home.
She married Gilbert C. Johnson Nov. 18, 1946 in Britt. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mason City.
Survivors include her husband, Gilbert C. Johnson, Mason City; one son, Timothy Paul Johnson and wife, Sue, Fond Du Lac, Wisc.; one daughter, Karen Kay Johnson, Rochester, Minn.; two grandsons, Christopher Michael Johnson and Scott Patrick Johnson, both of Fond Du Lac, Wisc.; one brother, Kenneth Mulert, Dubuque; five sisters, Margaret Mulert, Dubuque, Marcella Johnson of Britt, Mrs. Leo (June) Kammerer, Cedar Rapids, Vivian McGrath, Rock Island, Ill., and Rita Berndt of Moline, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son in infancy, Ronald John Johnson, and one brother, Harold Mulert.
