WILLIAM JOHNSON - 1868-1961

William son of Dr. William and Rebecca Johnson was born in a log cabin at Athens, Ohio, March 9, 1868.

He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Terry and they settled on a farm at Waponsa, Illinois. The following 15 years were spent in this state. They moved to Kansas and lived there for 5 years then moved to Iowa with their family in 1916. They farmed near Klemme until retirement in 1941. Mr. Johnson was taken to the Rockwell Nursing Home 4 years ago. He departed from this life there November 8, 1961 at the age of 93 years and 7 months.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Elizabeth, who is also in the Rockwell Nursing Home, and three children: Sylvan, Effie and Clarice. Six Grandchildren also survive and several Great Grandchildren.

In 1947 Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were happy to celebrate their Golden Wedding here.
