William Frederick Badker was born March 7, 1878 at Pittsford, Butler, Iowa to Henry Frederick Badker and Ida Marie Francis Price. Found his middle name as Frederick, Fritz and Henry. He had nine siblings: Henry William, Ida Marie, Wilhelmina, Augusta Marie, Frank Joseph, Emma Marie, Oscar, Cora Martha and Ione.

Found him in the 1880, 1885 censuses living at Pittsford, Butler County, IA with his parents and siblings on a farm northwest of Dumont, IA. 1880: Henry Baedker 38, Edith Baedker 30, Henry Baedker 11, Edith Baedker 8, Minnie Baedker 6, Augusta Baedker 4, Wilhelm Baedker 2, Frank Baedker 1m.
1885: Henry Badker 43, Ida Beadker 35, Henry Beadker 15, Ida Beadker 12, August Beadker 8, William Beadker 4, Frank Beadker 4, Enna Beadker 2.

Found in the 1900 census at Linden, Winnebago, Iowa with his parents. H F Boatker 58, Ida Boatker 51, Willie Boatker 21, Frank Boatker 19, Emma Boatker 16, Cora Boatker 14, Iona Boatker 7.

He married Rosella Jane (Jennie) Carothers on May 7, 1901 at Garner, Hancock, IA. His brother Frank married Rosella's sister Cora Martha Carothers, so their children were "double cousins".

Found family next in the 1905 census at Foxhome, Wilkin, MN, Says he had lived there 3 years and 8 months. (Census taken June 10, 1905.) Roy 26, Jennie 25, Roy 2, Cora 1 month; occupation - farmer.

Found in the 1910 census at Hammer, Yellow Medicine Co, MN living beside his brother Henry William & family: William F Bodker 32, Jennie Bodker 28, Roy Bodker 7, Marie Bodker 5, Merl Bodker 3, Kenneth Bodker 10 months.

Found in the 1920 census at Concord, Hancock Co, Iowa with family living at the Gilbert farm, working as a hired man. (Mrs. Gilbert was his aunt): J A Gilbert 37, Eva Gilbert 13, Dean Gilbert 10, Raymond Gilbert 6, Wm Badker 42, Jennie Badker 40, Roy Badker 17, Mary Badker 14, Merlin Badker 12[13] , Kenneth Badker 10, Pheyllis Badker 8, Lola Badker 6, Bernice Badker 3 years, 1 month.

Registration Card for the Draft used name William Frederick Fritz Badker. He worked as a farm laborer and in the 1923 City Directory for Mason City, IA, it says he was a volunteer fireman and worked at the National Clay Works.

Mason City Globe Gazette Newspaper Clipping: PLAN GOLDEN WEDDING: Mr. and Mrs. William Badker will observe their golden wedding with an open house at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Henry Cahill, Rt. 4, Mason City, Sunday from 2 to 5 and from 7 to 9. The Cahill farm is north on 12th N.E. to the Ideal Sand and Gravel, north 1 1/2 miles to the end of the road, turn left, half mile. William Badker and Jennie Carothers were married May 7, 1901 at Garner by the Rev. H. J. Bill, Presbyterian minister. They have eight children: Roy William, Clear Lake; Merle Henry, Osseo, Wisc.; Lola Shook, Eagle Grove; and Calla Josephine Cahill, Bernice Hyde, Phyllis Bombella, Cora Marie Dent and William Kenneth Badker, all of Mason City, Iowa.

William Frederick Badker died 1958, probably at Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa. He is buried at Concord Cemetery, Garner, Hancock, Iowa.
