Services for Mrs. Fannie Blumer, 79, of Garner, who died Saturday at North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, will be held 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the United Methodist Church in Garner with Rev. Jerry Wolcott as officiant.
Mrs. Richard Johnson, organist, will accompnay Mrs W.J. Mack who will sing two songs. Ushers will be John Humphrey and Ben Riemer.
Casket bearers will be Donavon Blumer, Douglas Blumer, Gerald Halverson, David Zimple, Gary Hampton, and Dennis Zittergruen. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Mason City.
Visitation will be held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner, after 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Fannie Clara Blumer, the daughter of John and Fannie (Kratchmer) Heginger was born April 12, 1906 on a farm in Avery Township. She attended the rural schools of Hancock County.
October 16, 1924 she was married to Jacob L. Blumer at the Peace Reformed Church parsonage south of Garner. They farmed in Avery, Liberty, Ell, and Concord Townships for 43 years. In 1968 they retired from farming and moved into Garner.
She enjoyed working with flowers and gardening.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the U.M.W. She had enjoyed being a part of the "Quilters" at the church.
She is survived by her children; Mrs. Alvin(Betty) Halverson, Mrs. Raymond (Ivadell) Schoenwetter of Garner, Robert Blumer and his wife, Iola, of Fountain, Minnesota, Donald Blumer and his wife, Thelma, of Viola, Wisconsin, and Harold Blumer of Des Moines; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; 3 brothers-in-law, William Tiggeman of Garner, Edwin Medaus of Garner, and Taus Harms of Belmond.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob, December 8, 1977; her parents; one brother, Carl Heginger; six sisters, Mrs. Lee (Mollie) Price, Mrs. William (Martha) Tiggeman, Mrs. John (Anna) Pannhoff, Mrs. Edwin (Doris) Medaus, Mrs. Taus (Cecelia) Harms, and Mrs. Harold (Ruth) Lassahn.
