Skiles Core Funeral Held

Skiles Core, 94, a resident of Forest City for more than 40 years, died June 17. Funeral services were held at Hanson funeral home Sunday with the Rev. O. W. Brand, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating.

Burial was in Madison Cemetery with William C. Haugland, Dr. E. E. Worth, A. E. Rasmussen, Joe Cook, Fred Sahr and C. O. Nerby as pallbearers.

Mr. Core was born in Union Town, Fayette county, Pa., one of seven children of Elias and Mary Jane Coffman Core. He was the last of his family, all others preceding him in death.

In 1869 he and his family moved to Grand Ridge, Ill. Here he grew to manhood. In 1888, he and his brother Clark Core moved to a farm in Madison township and in 1912 he came to Forest City. He made his home with his brother and sister-in-law.

Survivors include two nephews and four nieces, one of whom is Mrs. Al Stenseth, two grand nieces, Mrs. R. J. Eggert of Charles City and Dorothy Stenseth, and two great grand nieces.
