Services Thursday for Mrs. Smith
Mrs. Andrew Smith, 76, died Monday at the Forest City hospital
Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held at 2 p.m. this Thursday in the Calvary Baptist Church.
The Rev. Charles Curtis will officiate at the services. Mrs. Ralph Johnson, organist, will accompany the Rev. Ronald Hutchings, soloist.
Casket bearers will be Gordon Hall, Lawrence Thompson, LeRoy Thompson, Orville Thompson, Richard Thompson and Terry Thompson.
Interment will be in the Madison township cemetery with the Olson Funeral home in charge.
Mary Gertrude Peterson was born June 15, 1888, the daughter of Thora and John Peterson in Clayton county. In 1897, she came to Winnebago county in a covered wagon.
She was married to Andrew J. Smith Dec. 21, 1910, in Forest City where she lived until her death. She had been an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church since 1925.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. P. K. (Lucille) Myhre of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Paul (Melba) Stumbo of Minot, N. D., Mrs. Arnold (Gladys) Stumbo of Boone, Mrs. Albert (Anna Mae) Snyder of Hopkins, Minn., Mrs. Orville (Frances) Cole of Ames and Mrs. Richard (Doris) Johnson of Leland; four sons, the Rev. Lloyd Smith of Des Moines, Harold of Oakland, Calif., the Rev. Glenn Smith of Bennett, Colo., Merle of Forest City; four sisters, Mrs. Harry Thompson of Forest City, Mrs. Jake Wilson of Round Lake, Minn., Mrs. Elmer Halvorson of Kensett and Mrs. Joy Prestholt of Wells, Minn., and one brother, Henry Sherva of Austin, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
