Through Paralysis, Relieved By DeathMrs. John Morem, one of the pioneer settlers of Ellington township, died at her home Friday, May 29. At the time of her passing, she had reached the age of 69 years, 11 months and four days.
Her death was not wholly unexpected, as for some time it was evident that she would not long be spared to her loved ones. For the six weeks preceding her death she had been bedridden as the result of a paralytic stroke.
Funeral services for Mrs. Morem were held Sunday, May 31, at Ellington Lutheran church, at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. H. E. Okland, her pastor, officiating.
Deceased was born in Norway June 25, 1861. Her maiden name was Isabel Bensen. When but a young girl she came to the United States, and for a time lived in Minneapolis. In the year 1890 she was united in marriage to John Morem of Harmony, Minn., and forthwith they came to Hancock county to live.
Four children were born into the home. They are: Mrs. Irving Charlson of Forest City; Albert, Henry and Bertina, all of whom are at home.
Her husband preceded her in death 18 years.
Mrs. Morem was a kind, loving woman, loyal to her church and her friends.
