Memorial services for Blanche Brcka, 70, Garner, who died Saturday, Aug. 10, 1991, at her home in Garner will be held 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 14, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan with Rev. Msgr. John Chihak as celebrant. Her body was donated to medical science.

Burial will be at a later date in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Duncan. The Cataldo Funeral Home of Garner is in charge of arrangements.

Blanche Frances Brcka, the daughter of Anton and Emma (Houdek) Brcka, was born October 10, 1920 on a farm west of Garner. She received her education at Garfield Township School. Blanche was baptized and confirmed at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan, where she was a life-long member. She had lived on the family farm until the death of her father, when she moved into Garner. She enjoyed cooking and most recently was employed at a restaurant in Garner.

She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Dorothy Urich and her husband, Rudy of Garner; three nephews, Roger Urich of Garner, Robert Urich and his wife, Billie of Boulder, CO and Gerald Urich of Des Moines; a niece, Carmen of Ft. Collins, CO, and an uncle, William Houdek of Garner.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Arnold Brcka.
