Services for Theodore "Ted" Gustav Boehnke, 85, of Clear Lake, who died Tuesday, June 20, 1988 at his home in Clear Lake, were held 11 a.m., Thursday, June 23 at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Garner, with Rev. Reynold Petersen as officiant.

Mrs. Louise Boehnke, organist, accompanied, soloist, Mrs. Marilyn Hayes. Ushers were Arlo Woiwood and Edwin Furness.

Casket bearers were Harold Boehnke, Gene Hinrichs, Robert Ollenburg, Harold Pueggel, Garth Hinrichs and Larry Dietrich.

Burial was in St. John's Cemetery, rural Garner with Cataldo Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Theodore "Ted" Gustav Boehnke, the son of F.F. and Martha (Ziesmer) Boehnke, was born June 21, 1902 on a farm near Ventura. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church of Garner and attended St. John's Parochial School.

November 25, 1925, he married Marie Hinrichs at the St. John's Lutheran Church of Victor. They farmed northwest of Ventura until 1964, when they moved to Clear Lake where he operated a drive in restaurant at West Union from 1966-1971.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Garner, served on the Ventura Creamery Board and was the Hancock County Assessor from 1958-1960. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and working with wood.

He is survived by his wife, Marie, of Clear Lake; his son Gordon and his wife, Sally of Ventura; his daughter, Lois Kotz of Clear Lake; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three sisters, Olga Ollenburg of Clear Lake, Martha Jass of Ventura and Ruth Ollenburg of Garner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Violet Kelck an infant son; a sister, Emma Pueggel; and a brother Ferdinand.
