1913-1995Services for Rowene Bilbrey, 82, of Britt, who died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 1995 at Westview Care Center in Britt were held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 19, at the United Methodist Church in Britt with Rev. Dennis Bailey as officiant.
Mrs. Tom Buns was organist. Ushers were Alfred Champion and Ralph Cook Sr.
Casket bearers were James Bilbrey, Don Jass, Tim Jass, Troy Bilbrey, Lynn Forshee and Roger Jacobson.
Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt. Visitation was held Friday at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Britt.
Rowene Edith Bilbrey, the daughter of William Henry and Evalena (Robinson) Perkins was born April 22, 1913 at Corwith. She graduated from Corwith High School and then worked as a telephone operator for several years.
January 8, 1935, she married Martin Franklin Bilbrey at Lake Mills. They lived in Kanawha, Corwith, Virginia, Kentucky, Klemme and then Britt, where they owned and operated the Britt Appliance & Furniture Store. After 15 years in business, they moved to Fargo, ND where they lived until 1984, when they retired and returned to Britt. Due to ill health, Rowene had resided at Westview Care Center since December of 1991.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Fargo, ND.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Jass and her husband, Don of Prior Lake, MN and their three children, Terri Severson, Tim Jass and Jennifer Jass; her son, James Bilbrey and his wife, Carol, of Circle Pines, MN and their three children, Troy Bilbrey, Carla Bilbrey and Tara Bilbrey; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Maxine Risvold of Clear Lake and Evelyn Stephens of Austin, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Franklin Bilbrey, September 2, 1994; her parents; and a brother, Cy Perkins.
