Boyd Armstrong, 65 died last Thursday

Boyd W. Armstrong, longtime resident of Forest City and employee of the city for 26 years died last Thursday at Forest City municipal hospital.

Funeral services were held Saturday from Olson Funeral Home with Rev. Owen Gangstead officiating. Burial was in Madison township cemetery.

Mr. Armstrong, 65, was born June 2, 1902 at Britt, the son of Scott and Phena (Stephanson) Armstrong.

He came to Forest City in 1928 with his mother and stepfather. For 26 years he had been employed at the municipal light until he became ill and could no longer work.

He married Viola Soald at Albert Lea July 11, 1930. They were the parents of one son, Jerry.

Survivors include his wife, his son and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Fern Fox and a brother in early childhood.

Mrs. Roy E. Olson was soloist and Mrs. Joseph Peterson was organist. Casket bearers were Melvin C. Anderson, Donald Clauson, Donald Durant, Howard Nessa, Adell Suby and Ronald Seaman.
