James J. Surin, Formerly of this County, Succumbs to Bright's Disease and Heart Trouble
Burial At Duncan Cemetery
James J. Surin of Haugen, Wis., who had many friends in this county, died at his home on April 6th. He had been a great sufferer for several years prior to his death, and up to the last suffered an untold pain. He was waiting patiently for the end to come.
James J. Surin was born in Chicago, Ill., September 25, 1869; departed this life April 6, 1915, aged 45 years, 7 months and 11 days. Mr. Surin was married to Miss Emma Hawel August 19, 1907. After their marriage they resided in Iowa two years, moving to Haugen, Wis., in 1909, having resided there for over five years.
Deceased leaves to mourn his loss a devoted wife, a son five years old, a brother and sister.
The remains were removed to Duncan, Iowa, where funeral services were held at 9:30 o'clock Saturday, April 10, at the Catholic church of which he was a member. Rev. Father Vipisk officiated. The remains were laid to to rest in the Duncan cemetery.
