Mrs. Anna Hornberg, wife of John Hornberg just over the line in Hancock county, died at the hospital at Cherokee last Monday morning of paralysis, and the remains were brought to Britt where the funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon from the German Lutheran church, the local minister at that place presiding. Interment was at the cemetery at that place.

Mrs. Hornberg was born in Germany where she was first married to Jacob Lutz with whom she came to this country in early life, settling at Britt where they lived happily for some years later, moving to Garner where her first husband passed away about sixteen years ago. To the first union three children were born, two sons and one daughter, all of whom remain to mourn her loss. In September 1899 she was again united in marriage, this time to John Hornberg. To this union one child was born who is now three years of age. She was a member of the German Lutheran church at Garner for years before her death. For the past several months she had been an inmate of the Cherokee hospital receiving treatment for troubles brought on by paralysis having been there since last September, but the dread disease finally reaped its reward and took the good woman home to the Maker. At the time of her death she was 45 years of age.

Besides the husband and children she leaves two sisters who reside at Mason City and one brother at Myre Falls, Washington.
