Mildred I. Snook, the daughter of John and Daisy Snook, was born June 26, 1911, in Brown County, KS. The oldest of three daughters, Mildred grew up in Kansas and graduated from Hiawatha, KS High School. She traveled with several Pentecostal evangelist groups in the 1930's and 1940's. One of them was an all women's group traveling throughout the Midwest. She also traveled with her sister Inez and her husband, Clifford, who were also traveling evangelists. Mildred was an avid piano player and singer and later was the main piano player for the Assembly of God church in Elgin, IL.

When Inez had her two sons, Robert and John, Mildred helped raise them in Elgin. Mildred never married but both Robert and John considered her more than an aunt but partly their mother.

In her later years, she moved to Iowa and eventually to Garner. Mildred was very religious and loved the Lord.

She is survived by a nephew, John Johnson of Vacaville, CA; and a special friend, Debra Haugen of Klemme.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a nephew.
