As a youth he received his education in the rural schools of Franklin County and worked on his father's farm.

On February 28, 1905, William Waddingham was united in marriage with Miss Louisa Jahnke of Meservey, Iowa. God in His providence blessed this union with seven children.

The Waddinghams made their home on a farm four miles east and three miles south of Klemme. Mr. Waddingham was a very industrious farmer and one who was cooperative with his neighbors. The Waddinghams retired from farming in 1945 and have made their home in the town of Klemme. Mr. Waddingham has been a member of Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church of Klemme for the past 20 years.

After an extended period of declining health, he was taken to Mercy Hospital in Mason City where he underwent major surgery. He was a patient in the hospital for approximately eight weeks and was called to his eternal home on Sunday, June 17, having attained the age of 79 years, 11 months and 20 days.

Those who survive are his wife, and the following sons and daughters: Belle (Mrs. Martin Karsjens) of Klemme; John of Klemme; Roy of Rockwell; Doris (Mrs. Tony Tebbens) of Corwith; Virgil of Meservey; Lucille (Mrs. Harm Dirks) of Meservey.
